Ear Coning /
Ear Candling
Natural Vitality Center is the premier New York Ear Candling center.
Ear coning is a natural ear healing technique that began centuries ago,
possibly in ancient Egypt. The practitioner uses a hollow, waxed, cloth
candle, This simple home remedy assists in the removal of ear wax and may
lead to an improvement of: sinus problems, sore throat, ear ache, swimmers
ear, chronic head aches, allergies and hearing difficulty. The candle is
gently placed in the ear and then the exterior end is lit. The low flame
of the wick create a slow vacuum which softens and vacuums the old wax
into the hollow base of the candle.
The Ear
The outer ear consist of the pinna and the ear canal, which funnel sound
waves toward the eardrum. The canal can become infected, producing pain
and a discharge. Hearing difficulties can occur if the canal becomes
blocked with excess ear wax which is produced by the ceruminous (cerumen)
glands. The cerumen glands are located in the cartilaginous part of the
canal. Middle ear The main organs of the middle ear are the eardrum,
membrane that covers the entrance to the middle-ear cavity, and three
interconnecting bones known as the hammer, anvil, and stirrip (0ssicles).
The middle ear is connected to the back of the throat (the pharynx) by the
eustachian tube which permits the passage of air between the nose and the
middle-ear cavity. Middle ear infections (ottis media) are caused by the
bacteria of viruses. Inner ear The inner ear, also called the cochlea
(Latin for "snail shell" which resembles in structure) is made up of
chambers filled with fluid. The movements of this fluid, in response to
the messages from the ossicles, are transmitted via the auditory nerve to
the brain, where the hearing process is complicated. Damage to the cochlea
can result in tinnitis (noise in the ear) or deafness.
Hearing Difficulty
Ear aches Pain felt in the ear does not necessarily originate there. Since
there are many delicate nerve connections between the ears, nose,
throughout and mouth, an ear ache may be caused by a variety of
conditions: Changes in air pressure, dental problems, tonsillitis,
infected adenoids and sinuses. One of the conditions that make for mold
allergy is candida. Candida albricans organism in the ear causes itching
and symptoms of arthritis or feeling of numbness in the neck, shoulders,
elbows, and hands. Parasites in the ear may cause symptoms ranging from
hypoglycemia, diabetes, heart problems, arthritis, irrational & emotional
instability, enzyme function impairments, hyperactivity in children, to
learning and thinking impairments. Yeast fungus as well as common worms
are considered parasites. When the nerve endings in the ear are blocked
from picking stimulus by either fungus or yeast growth, the hearing
process cannot be completed. Most infectious of the middle ear are
associated with the upper respiratory infections transmitted through the
eustachian tube from the nose and pharynx. Inflammation of the tube itself
is common as a consequence of improper nose-blowing or of sniffing
germ-laden mucus from the throat. Middle ear infections (ottis media) are
caused directly by bacteria or viruses, or indirectly by the presence of
pneumonia, influenza (cold), measles, mumps, or scarlet fever. Hearing
difficulties Symptoms of pain felt in the ear such as a sensation of
blockage, may be associated with ear wax. A secretion from the ceruminous
glands in the outer ear accumulate and harden to form ear wax. This wax
cannot be reached with your finger tips, but Ear Coning can help reach and
bring out the wax with absolutely no discomfort. Ear wax blockage is a
common cause of temporary hearing loss, particularly in the elderly.
Inflammation of the middle ear also causes hearing loss. Inflammation
occurs when bacteria from the respiratory infection, such as cold, or
draining sinus travel up the Eustachian tube from the throat and inflame
the tissue of the middle-ear. If the tube then becomes blocked, fluids and
pus produced by the infection cannot drain the fluids accumulated, thereby
causing hearing loss by inhabiting the vibration of the eardrum.
Questions & Answers
Where do ear problems
occur?
The ear consists of three main sections:
the outer ear, the middle ear, and the inner ear. Each section performs a
specific function in the hearing process. The inner ear also plays a
special role in the maintaining balance. Generally, disorders of the outer
ear are not serious, but the middle ear is prone to both viral and
bacterial infection. Disorders of the very delicate organs of the inner
ear (the cochlea and labyrinth) may be much more serious.
What are ear infections?
The middle ear is a small place between the outer and inner ear which
contains three delicate bones (anvil, hammer and stirrup) that are vital
to hearing. Air pressure is kept constant by the eustachin, or auditory
tube, which leans into the middle ear from the back of the nasal cavity.
When bacteria or a virus invade the middle ear, inflammation and fluid
build-up resulting in an infection.
